Center for Advanced
Computation & simulation:
To establish computation as a
critical tool for conducting research, scholarship and creative activity in all
engineering disciplines, the center is dedicated to fostering new collaborations
based on computation and encouraging applications of computation in research.
Also, to provide the capabilities needed to
continue the growth of advanced computing-based research, including support for
traditional supercomputing, parallel cluster-based computing, large-scale research
databases, and application testing.
This Lab is situated on the ground floor of the new
Systems Engineering building en route to the Julius Berger
auditorium. The lab has a capacity of
thirty (30) including the technologist and lecturers. A variety of software packages
are available for use by the students in the lab and every effort is made
towards ensuring that only relevant software packages are installed all of
which are frequently updated.
Software include:
- Microsoft Visual Studio
- Wolfram Mathematica
- Microsoft Office
- MATLAB R2013a
- AutoCAD
- IBM BigInsights For Bigdata Processing
Equipment Summary:
- 15 Desktop Computers
- 1 Dell Alienware
- Interactive Board with Projector
